Review of Aretha Frankensteins' Pancake Mix
So, there's this breakfast joint in Chattanooga, TN called Aretha Frankensteins, and they claim on pancakes. My kind of place. I got a box of their mix, and brought it back home to make them—with nothing but excitement building in my soul.
This batch was a little thin, I think it was mixed that way, but I didn't have buttermilk handy, and used what I had—a mark of a true professional. I threw some pecans in them, and with those that the pancakes had a really good taste & texture.If you can't get to Chattanooga to buy some, you can find the pancake mix at their online store. It's $25 for 3 boxes, or if you eat pancakes like me, a case of 12 boxes are $73. You'll just need a good source for maple syrup.
